Cais Sodré Funk Connection, Áurea and NBC took to the stage at Tivoli, last Monday, the “Most Beautiful Christmas Songs”, in Soul Funk style.
According to the artists, “…The Cotton Christmas is a Show for Families… is a special show as Tamin had never sung Christmas songs, he didn’t know any lyrics, the only lyrics he knew were from Mariah Carey’s music All I Want for Christmas is You … this project allowed the group to travel all over Portugal, so that families could have a good time, according to Áurea “I think we all need to have a good time, let’s move forward and this Christmas it will be warmer, with a very different show just for you (the public)…”.
The concert in itself, as special as all Christmas concerts are, brought the very particular magic of soul to songs as old as “I’m Dreaming of a White Christmas”, “Blue, Blue Christmas” or “Silent Night”.
In this concert, we learned that “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” is one of Áurea’s favourite Christmas songs, and that Tamin didn’t know the lyrics of the Christmas songs, except the lyrics of “All I Want for Christmas is You”.
The artists were brilliant on stage, promoting funny moments, distributing magic, which for an hour and a half captivated the audience. There was even time for bets.
The concert followed with “Santa Claus is Coming to Town“, “Jingle Bell Rock, Last Christmas“, “All I Want for Christmas is You”, “Let it snow“.
It was a night spent with the family, that’s how the artists considered themselves, to the sound of very good Christmas music, a night in which the audience sang with the artists, NBC thanked the audience for their kindness, thanked everyone for their presence, Áurea said the audience was a fundamental piece for everything to have gone well and Tamin thanks once again everyone’s presence.
And it is as a family that Áurea raises her glass and toasts the new year of 2022, wishing we can return to what we were, without viruses, in health. Áurea says he feels good and as such the following song refers to those who return home “I’ll be Home for Christmas”.
Ending the Christmas wishes with “We wish You a Merry Christmas”.
