Magos da Guitarra 2025: The biggest guitar festival in Portugal
expands with more shows and territory covered
The organization of the Magos da Guitarra festival announces the dates for the fourth edition, which will take place between February 28th and March 30th, consolidating itself as the largest guitar festival in Portugal, both in number of concerts and in the territory covered.
This year, the event will span five weekends, taking its program to 12 municipalities in Trás-os-Montes and Douro.
With a concept based on the virtuosity of the guitar, and not on a specific musical genre, Magos da Guitarra brings together artists from different geographies and styles, reinforcing the cultural multiplicity that defines the festival. The 2025 edition already has some confirmed names, such as the North American Trevor Gordon Hall, the Alter Ego Trio (Cuba), Beiroas in Concert (Brazil/Portugal), which brings together guitarists Fernando Deghi and Ricardo Fonseca, and the French Gaëlle Solal. The full schedule with specific dates and locations will be announced soon.
The festival reinforces its identity with the motto “a festival for a territory”, assuming Trás-os-Montes and Douro as its natural space. The organization, led by DE MI PARA SI, maintains its focus on cultural decentralization, promoting the region’s patrimonial and artistic wealth and giving visibility to its cultural spaces.
In 2025, Magos da Guitarra deepens its mission of celebrating the guitar as a universal and transcendent instrument, creating a meeting between tradition and innovation, technique and emotion.
The concerts of this edition will pass through Alijó, Carrazeda de Ansiães, Lamego, Mesão Frio, Peso da Régua, Sabrosa, Macedo de Cavaleiros, Vila Flor, Vila Pouca de Aguiar, Sernancelhe, Tabuaço and Penedono.
