Another thrashing of Portugal, now the victim was France
European Women's Roller Hockey Championship
The Portuguese women’s roller hockey team beat France at the European Championship by 9-1, in the second round of the tournament that takes place at the Pavilhão Municipal do Luso.
After the match against England by 11-0, the Portuguese victim was France by 9-1, at half-time Portugal was already winning by 5-1.
Marlene Sousa, at 39 seconds, scored the first, Portugal couldn’t have started better, Ana Catarina the second and Marlene scored twice seconds later.
Maria Sofia Silva made it 4-0, in the 14th minute, France still managed to reduce by Vanessa Daribo, in the 20th minute, but Portugal did not slow down and three minutes later they scored the fifth and sixth in the 35th minute.
Ana Catarina, Marlene Sousa and Raquel Santos scored the remaining 3 goals of the match.
Five-time champions Spain thrashed 6-0 Italy, who had beaten France 3-0. Portugal leads with six points, followed by Spain with three but one game less, the same as Italy, while France and England haven’t scored yet.
Portugal plays, today, Wednesday, with Italy, at 20:00, Spain will face England, at 17:30.
