Another unforgettable night by Xutos

After touring the country with the “Olá, Vida Malvada!” Tour, it was Lisbon’s turn to welcome them, in a house full of fans, who once again followed them from the beginning to the end of the show.

Xutos & Pontapés is the Portuguese super band, their shows are usually sold out and are a success, they are followed by a legion of fans, of all ages who know their songs from start to finish.

The first part of the Xutos show was performed by two bands: Conjunto!Evite and Meu General.

Founded in Lisbon in 1978, the band left an indelible mark on Portuguese music with rock anthems, moving lyrics and high-energy performances.

The band was formed by Zé Pedro, Zé Leonel, Kalú and Tim. The band’s original name was Delirium Tremens, but it was later changed to Xutos & Pontapés. Over the years, the band released numerous successful albums, including Circo de Feras (1987) and Duro (1982), which solidified their status as pioneers of Portuguese rock.

The band has had some lineup changes over the years, but its core of Tim, Kalú, João Cabeleira, and Gui has remained constant. In 2017, the band suffered a significant loss with the death of founding guitarist Zé Pedro.

Xutos & Pontapés are considered the pioneers of Portuguese rock, paving the way for future generations of rock musicians in Portugal. His songs have become anthems for many Portuguese people, reflecting their experiences, hopes and dreams.
The band continues to tour and perform to loyal audiences, proving their enduring appeal and relevance in the Portuguese music scene.

Xutos & Pontapés have received numerous awards throughout their career, including the prestigious Cultural Merit Award from the Portuguese Government in 2004. The band was also honoured with the Medal of Honor from the Portuguese Society of Authors in 2018.
Xutos & Pontapés continue to be a vital force in Portuguese music, their music resonates with fans of all ages and their legacy as a pioneer of Portuguese rock is assured.
