The Sociedade Filarmónica União Seixalense will host the party at the end of the first semester of the school year in the municipality of Seixal, on February 3rd (Saturday), starting at 9:30 pm. Entry is free.
Young musicians from the municipality of Malabá, Sogranora and DJ Tarik were chosen to mark the event, in a concert also animated by dancers from Via Urbana. The Final Semester Party is organized by the Seixal City Council in conjunction with the municipality’s student associations.
Paulo Silva, president of Seixal City Council, says «This is a way to support young women and motivate students to successfully continue their studies as they will be the men and women of tomorrow! Therefore, it is necessary to create routines not only for work and study but also for socializing and leisure».
Malabá is a rapper from the village of Paio Pires, known for his sound versatility and ability to say what everyone feels, through rhymes embellished by metaphors over instrumentals full of melodies and rhythms, which infect us. He is the creator and performer of «The Malabá Show», a live act that involves an exciting fusion of rap, rock and gospel and which gave life to five shows at Hard Rock Café Lisboa. Currently, he has new projects that promise to take Malabá to the next level, guaranteeing the quality and originality that we have always become accustomed to.
Sogranora, in turn, is three brothers that life brought together: Ricardo Sebastião (guitar, keyboards and vocals), Tomás Andrade (guitar and keyboards) and Vasco Gomes (drums and percussion). As the 3 are multi-instrumentalists, Sogranora is a mix of influences ranging from folk to psych rock, something that is evident to anyone who knows their record works, characterized by a process of continuous exploration and which reveals the versatility of this band in constant mutation. The sound of this band from Seixal is a reflection of their restless souls organic inspirations and the desire to bring something new and innovative, song after song.
To close the night with a bang, there will be a performance by Tarik Chand, founding member of the Via Urbana team who, despite being a dancer, will perform at the Semester Final Party as a DJ, to entertain those present with the best sounds of hip-hop, R&B, funk and soul.
