Malú Garcia presents the debut album “Caminhos”

Auditório Carlos Paredes, Lisbon

Presentation Concert, January 20th, 21:30 at Carlos Paredes Auditorium, Lisbon

Malú Garcia releases his debut album “Caminhos“, choosing versatility to define himself as an artist. A much-desired album, with the violinist working on the themes for the last two years.

Songs are full of contagious rhythms, influences, and amplitudes ranging from Jazz to World Music, with forays into very diverse styles, such as, for example, Morna, Tango, Swing, Samba, and even Fado.

Malú Garcia started his violin studies at the age of 8 and, recently, felt the need and curiosity to go in search of new styles, new ways of playing, and new rhythms and this record is the living result of that incursion. With a fascinating career, the violinist has performed both in classical performances with the Gulbenkian orchestra and in pop performances, alongside Carlão, and Capitão Fausto, among other artists.

One of the strong characteristics of Malú Garcia’s musical project is the diversity of styles in a single album, influences that come from his passion for music and his incessant search for new cultures, sounds, and rhythms, making his music a truly universal language.

The first concert of the release of Malú Garcia’s first original album, “Caminhos”, is scheduled for January 20th, at 21.30h, at Auditorio Carlos Paredes, in Lisbon. It promises to be an intimate concert, full of contagious rhythms, with the complicity of musicians Sebastian Scheriff, Pedro Baião, Rui Poço, and Ricardo Marques. Tickets will be available at Ticketline, Palácio Baldaya, and Quiosque Grão Vasco.

According to Malú Garcia, ““Caminhos” is the beginning, it is the result of the beginning of this journey that I dreamed of and that I want to continue to follow. I am a violinist, with a classical background, but music is what defines me, without any barriers, and I intend to take a bit of this universal culture and the sounds that move me, influence me and move me, even all people, from north to south. I imagine when interpreting them.”
