ABBA is one of the best-known bands in the world, their songs have enchanted a generation and won over many others. The musical Mamma Mia has returned to Portugal for more fun nights, with songs that we all know and sing along to.
This super fun musical will be on for just 2 weeks, and will once again captivate everyone who was thrilled by the songs they saw at Eurovision, as well as generations who grew up watching their parents and grandparents sing and dance to their many hits.
The irresistibly fun story of a mother, a daughter and three possible parents on a paradisiacal Greek island, set to the sound of ABBA’s timeless songs, has enchanted audiences and fans of the Swedish band’s music.
Since its debut in London’s West End over 25 years ago, “MAMMA MIA” has won over 70 million people around the world and is a true international phenomenon.
A musical as versatile as ABBA’s songs, and for all ages.
The music and lyrics for MAMMA MIA! were written by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus. The script was written by Catherine Johnson, directed by Phyllida Lloyd and choreographed by Anthony Van Laast. The production is conceived by Mark Thompson, with lighting by Howard Harrison, sound design by Andrew Bruce & Bobby Aitken and musical direction, additional materials and arrangements by Martin Koch.
The show in English with Portuguese subtitles, produced by UAU, can be seen at Sagres Campo Pequeno until May 25 and at Coliseu Porto Ageas from May 28 to June 1, 2025.
