Mano a Mano takes Christmas music to church

The brothers André and Bruno Santos, two fantastic guitarists, form the duo Mano a Mano and in this concert they used their Madeiran guitars and chordophones to dazzle the audience that filled the Church of Santo António this Christmas season with Christmas songs, always with a special touch.

Musicians André and Bruno Santos played in the beautiful setting of Igreja de Santo António, in Lisbon, the songs that are part of the album with Christmas repertoire, which they presented in a show at Teatro Baltazar Dias, Funchal, in December 2020.

Bruno mentioned how happy he was to be presenting the album of Christmas songs, at Igreja de Santo António, full of songs like “I’ll be home for Christmas” by Bill Cosby and “Chrismas song” which had its most famous version sung by Nat King Cole and “This Christmas“.

André even says that playing in a place like this is fantastic, with such good acoustics, he also mentions that in this place, you always seem to sound good, and in fact, you sound very good, even without the help of the space, too “Have a merry little Christmas“, “Silent Night“, “Virgem no parto” traditional Madeira theme and among others “Christmas Waltz“, music made for Frank Sinatra, which Bruno explained, was made at Frank’s request, jealous of the great success achieved by Bing Crosby, with “White Christmas“, and “I wish you a Merry Christmas” were performed masterfully, in what is another excellent concert with the EGEAC seal.

With several albums edited in his own name and participation in various projects such as Maria João, Carlos Bica, Rita Redshoes, Salvador Sobral, 7to / Big Band from Hot Clube de Portugal, among others, André and Bruno Santos, in addition to their career musical, they are teachers at the Hot Clube de Portugal school, the eldest brother, Bruno, director of the school for a decade, with another 10 years teaching in the licentiate and master’s degrees at the Lisbon Superior School of Music.
