Manu Chao announces show in Portugal: “Ultra Acústico” takes place on January 30th at LAV – Lisboa ao Vivo.

An album that, once again, brings us a Manu Chao who looks from the inside out to see the world and find himself again.
Viva Tu is an album that makes musical virtue of Manu’s elaborate simplicity, delving into his unique way of creating a recognizable and familiar sound and lyrical universe from the first chord.
A work that blends the Mediterranean and the Caribbean, revitalizing for the soul and energizing for the heart. Its tracks include alternative rock, ska, punk rock, reggae, Latin alternative… An album that features a song sung in Portuguese “São Paulo Motoboy”. Viva Tu is the artist’s fifth album, 17 years after the previous one.
Born in Paris, the son of Spanish immigrant parents, he began playing on the streets of the French capital and followed a diverse musical trajectory in sounds and projects. It crossed continents, from Europe to Africa, passing through Latin America. After being part of several bands, he released the solo album Clandestino in 1998, which exceeded all expectations, positioning Manu as a world-renowned artist. A mixed-race sounding record, where everything that had been learned up until then crystallized and laid the foundations for what he would continue to develop: a multicultural and multilingual package, which delivers committed and simultaneous doses of sadness and joy, anger and hope. Then came Próxima Estação: Esperanza, in 2001, which produced famous singles such as “Me gustas tú”.
Manu Chao is today an artist who needs no introduction. He offers Portuguese fans a surprise show at the beginning of 2025, on January 30th. A show produced by Soundsgood, at LAV. Gates open at 8 pm, with the concert starting at 9 pm. Tickets are on sale from this Friday, the 10th, at the usual locations.
