Manu Chao’s second date in Lisbon is sold out
Once again, Manu Chao sold out his concert in Lisbon, just a few hours after the announcement of a new date. Fans who managed to get tickets will then be able to watch “Ultra Acústico”, on January 30th and February 1st, at LAV – Lisboa ao Vivo.
After scheduling a surprise show on January 30th and selling out the date in 4 days, the organization opened a new show for February 1st, but the tickets disappeared in less than 24 hours.
Producer Soundsgood says that “it is unlikely that a new date will be set for ‘Ultra Acústico’”, a concert that will allow fans to listen live to some songs from the artist’s latest album, Viva Tu, but which will also visit Manu Chao’s most ironic themes.
Born in Paris to Spanish immigrant parents, Manu Chao began playing on the streets of the French capital and has had a diverse musical career in sounds and projects. It crossed continents, from Europe to Africa, passing through Latin America. After being part of several bands, he released the solo album Clandestino in 1998, which exceeded all expectations, positioning Manu as a world-renowned artist. A mixed-race sounding record, where everything that had been learned up until then crystallized and laid the foundations for what he would continue to develop: a multicultural and multilingual package, which delivers committed and simultaneous doses of sadness and joy, anger and hope. Then came Próxima Estação: Esperanza, in 2001, which produced famous singles such as “Me gustas tú”.
Shows at LAV: gates open at 8 pm, and start at 9 pm.
