Mão Verde, the project by Capicua and Pedro Geraldes, joined by Francisca Cortesão and António Sérginho, is back on the road with three new dates for the presentation of ‘Mão Verde II’, the record book that promises to cheer and inspire kids and adults with the themes of nature and ecology.
On the 24th of July, the project will pass through the Ermesinde Urban Park, at 5 pm, as part of the Book Fair of the Municipality of Valongo. On the 31st of July, the presentation is scheduled for Évora, at 9:30 pm, in the Public Garden, within the scope of Artes em Rua.
After a few years in a duo, with Capicua and Pedro Geraldes, Mão Verde became a quartet. Francisca Cortesão and António Serginho added instruments and voice and, now in a band, the old songs unfolded into new possibilities, and the creation of a new record doubled the repertoire.
Now, on stage, there are four sections of the same orange, with guitar, bass, drums, keyboards, percussion, and voices, in a show that wants to be even more danceable and participatory. With a new record to present, a new scenography, and a new lease on life, Mão Verde invites green and mature people to dance as if no one is watching, while learning more about herbs, butterflies, seasonal fruit, and everything else. to do with nature.

“Guacamole” is a (conditional) love song for avocado, in the sense that it affirms devotion to the fruit, but with concerns about the environmental impact of its consumption. With irony and evoking Mexican music, the song addresses the importance of consuming local and seasonal fruit, highlighting a great Guacamole recipe in the chorus. It’s another humorous theme from Mão Verde, playing with styles of music, to talk about serious things with lightness and fun.
In line with the four previous videos, “Framboesas, Escavadoras e Dinossauros”, “Panapanã”, “O pequeno ditador” and “Dois Estorninhos“, this animation was developed by creative director and producer Daniel Assunção based on illustrations by Mantraste, the artist responsible for the images available in the book “Mão Verde II”.

Mão Verde II is a book disc for children and families, with lyrics written by Capicua and music composed by Pedro Geraldes, Francisca Cortesão, and António Serginho, with illustrations by Mantraste and lots of informative content by Luis Alves on the topics, covered.
A dozen happy songs, played in a band with sensitivity and humor, to serve as a stimulus to Capicua’s playful and precious writing, presented in a delicate book full of useful information.
Mão Verde II starts with an approach as intelligent as it is witty to the childish imagination, to talk about ecology, through poetry, music, and illustration.
A disk-book or, as Capicua says, a “book disc” for green and ripe.
