MAR Shopping Matosinhos resumed full operation on April 19th, presenting three new stores – Opticalia Premium, Hanami Sushi and Kids Around -, six remodeled spaces – Jeronymo, Gato Preto, The Body Shop, Urban Project, Casa and My Mini Moon – and a new concept – the Snow White Home Jungle pop up store. In addition to these brands, Açaí com Granola also inaugurated a new store concept in a new location at MAR Shopping Matosinhos.
At a time when the occupancy rate of MAR Shopping Matosinhos is 98%, the director-general of the center is optimistic about the future. “It is true that the shopping center and commerce sector is being deeply affected by the pandemic and the economic crisis that it has caused, not only in Portugal, but worldwide. However, the resilience capacity that Portuguese companies have demonstrated, leads us to believe that, together with our partners and tenants, we will be able to recover the activity and sales rates of the pre-pandemic period”, adds Sandra Monteiro. The official believes that the new openings and renovations confirm, in addition to the desire to resume business, the brands’ trust in MAR Shopping Matosinhos and its management.
With open doors at MAR Shopping Matosinhos is now Opticalia Premium, the latest concept of the brand that “seeks to combine the know-how” of its network, present in the market for over 20 years, “with the personalized service of traditional optics, where the customer is placed at the center of the shopping experience ”. The new space has a selection of glasses models from brands such as Jimmy Choo, Tom Ford, Gucci, Prada, Dolce & Gabbana, Custo Barcelona, Montblanc, Mango and Ray-Ban.
Also operating for the first time in the shopping center, the Hanami Sushi restaurant started, a project that aims to offer customers traditional Japanese fusion food with different flavors and trends characteristic of the tropics and other countries, with high levels of quality, affordable and quickly, and Kids Around, a French children’s fashion brand.
With a new store layout and a renewed image, there are now brand spaces that thus reinforced confidence and presence in MAR Shopping Matosinhos, namely Jeronymo, Gato Preto, The Body Shop, Urban Project, Casa and My Mini Moon.
In turn, the Branca de Neve Home Jungle concept, 100% national brand and of its own production, which aims to create comfortable environments using plants and respective wooden supports, opened in a pop up store format. Açaí com Granola, present at MAR Shopping Matosinhos for three years, changed its location to a larger and more visible space, changing its concept to the pop-up store format.
Once again open to 100%, MAR Shopping Matosinhos has implemented a series of hygiene and disinfection measures, attested by the SGS certification “Desinfection Monitored”. Measures are also maintained to guarantee the most adequate spacing, space allocation and circuits to maintain the distance between people. In line with the recommendations of the health authorities, most entertainment spaces, such as playgrounds, among others, remain closed until further notice. All measures aim to provide a safe environment for visitors.
