Marco Meneses in the 50m final at the Paralympic Games
The Portuguese Marco Meneses ensured this morning his presence in the final of the 50 meter freestyle S11 of the Paralympic Games that are taking place in Tokyo, Japan.
The 20-year-old swimmer achieved the eighth fastest time in the qualifiers by swimming at a distance of 28.07 seconds, a record that improves the national record he set at the Europeans played in Funchal in May.
The final is scheduled for this Friday, at 9.57 hours.
Diogo Cancela, on the other hand, failed to be among the top eight in the 100 meters back S8 by completing the qualifiers in 11th place with a time of 1.15.63 minutes.
