Marcos Freitas wins and goes to the round of 16 in table tennis
The Portuguese Marcos Freitas entered the table tennis singles tournament at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games in the best possible way this Monday, by qualifying for the round of 16 with a victory over Daniel Habesohn.
The Portuguese, 16th seed, won over the Austrian with a 4-3 victory, by the partials of 11-7, 3-11, 11-7, 11-13, 2-11 and 11-3 , in 54 minutes.
In the next round, Marcos Freitas will face the winner of the game between the Chinese Zhendong Fan, the world number 1, and the French Emmanuel Lebesson.
Bronze medalist at the 2021 European Championship, Marcos Freitas completes his fourth Olympic participation, having the best result in fifth place at Rio2016, after 17th in Beijing2008 and Londres2012.
