Prime Video and TVI announce today the latest addition to the cast of the new season of Morangos com Açúcar. Margarida Corceiro (Quero é Viver, Bem Me Quer) joins the already confirmed return of Rita Pereira (A Herdeira, Quero é Viver), Pedro Teixeira (Irregular, Festa é Festa) and Tiago Castro (Fascínios, Inspector Max).
“I am very pleased to join the new cast of Morangos Com Açúcar. The previous seasons were part of my growth and I still remember getting home from school and running to turn on the television so as not to miss a second”, reveals Margarida Corceiro. “From what I already know about this new story, and about my character, I’m sure that the episodes will also hold the audience from beginning to end. I can’t wait for them to start!”
The 20-year-old actress is the first confirmed name of new actors who will join the Morangos com Açúcar reboot. In the coming weeks, Prime Video and TVI will reveal the remaining cast, made up of new actors who participated in the public casting call in early February, among other young talents.
In February, Media Capital, which owns TVI, and Prime Video announced an agreement for the production and distribution of two seasons of the Morangos com Açúcar reboot. The first season will follow a school year, while the second will follow the students’ vacations. The episodes will premiere on Prime Video and TVI in the last quarter of 2023.
The series joins the growing catalog of Portuguese content on the platform, which includes series such as Operation Maré Negra, Chegar a Casa, A Crónica dos Bons Malandros, PRAXX or documentaries such as Factory of Dreams: Benfica and Quintana: Um Guerreiro Extraordinário.
