The Jacinto do Prado Coelho Essay Prize, from the Portuguese Association of Literary Critics, was awarded to the book “O Absoluto que Pertence à Terra“, by Maria Filomena Molder.
The prize, with a cash value of 4,000 euros, is related to works published last year.
Maria Filomena Molder is a full professor at the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences of Universidade Nova de Lisboa and, in 2018, she won the P.E.N. 2018 Clube para Rehearsal, with the work “Dia Alegre, Dia Pensante, Dias Fatais”.
The researcher has already received other awards, namely, two other P.E.N. Clube Ensaio, in 2000, with “Semear na Neve. Estudos sobre Walter Benjamin” and, in 2012, with “O Químico e o Alquimista. Benjamin, Leitor de Baudelaire”.
In 2017, with “Rebuçados Venezianos”, she won the International Association of Art Critics/Fundação Carmona e Costa Award.
