The Capitol welcomed the Brazilian singer and songwriter for a concert to showcase her new album, Quem Sabe Isso Quer Dizer Amor.
One of the most respected and applauded Brazilian artists of the last two decades, Maria Gadú has established herself as an excellent interpreter and composer of Brazilian Popular Music.
In this new album, the singer-songwriter pays homage to the great names of Brazilian Popular Music, such as Caetano Veloso, Gonzaguinha, Marisa Monte and Rita Lee, in the company of her band, taking all her fans on a journey through songs such as “Shimbalaiê”, “Dona Cila”, “O Sal da Terra”, “Coisas da Vida”, “Quem sabe isso quer dizer amor” and “Bela Flor” among many other memorable songs.
Maria Gadú, Brazilian singer, songwriter and instrumentalist born in São Paulo on December 4, 1986, is known for her powerful and unmistakable voice, which combines elements of soul, samba, bossa nova and MPB.
Gadú began his musical career in the early 2000s, playing in bars and clubs in São Paulo. In 2009, she released her first studio album, Maria Gadú, which was an instant success, the album includes “Shimbalaiê”, “Dona Cila” and “Alguém me Avisou”, which established her as one of the main voices of contemporary Brazilian music.
Gadú continued to release successful albums in the following years, such as Mais uma Página (2011), Rua do Sol (2014), Sintonia (2017) and Quem Sabe Isso Quer Dizer Amor (2022), which he performed at concerts in Portugal in Lisbon and Porto.
Gadú is an artist committed to music and society, an activist for human and environmental rights, and uses her voice to defend important causes such as women, Indians and Mother Earth.
