The most unique voice of Portuguese Jazz joins the pianist in the show “almost acoustic duo”, which will take place on June 25, at Restelo, in Lisbon.
On June 25th, Som no Coreto welcomes the duo Maria João & João Farinha, who will present the show “almost acoustic duo”. The intimate voice and piano jazz concert starts at 6:30 pm, tickets cost 30 euros (with good wine and snacks included in the price) and reservations must be made via email.
Som no Coreto is already one of the most popular intimate concert projects in Lisbon, creating a bridge between musicians of different nationalities in order to promote exchange and share musical experiences. Several exclusive concerts by artists such as Ivan Lins, Daniel Jobim, Roberta Sá, Diego Figueiredo, Celeste Caramanna, Fred Martins, and Rolando Semedo have passed through the cozy house in Restelo. The project is curated by singer and songwriter Bernardo Lobo, who celebrates: “We are already in our third edition, and I am very happy for so many incredible performances by dear musicians. Receiving Maria João and João Farinha in our bandstand will be an honor. Maria João is one of the most renowned jazz singers in Portugal, with whom I’ve had the pleasure of sharing the stage”.
Maria João and João Farinha form a duo of great musical empathy. Together, the artists recreate a free and relaxed musical atmosphere, presenting a concert in which original and classic jazz themes dialogue with electronic sounds.
The host Bernardo is the son of two legendary artists of Brazilian Popular Music: composer Edu Lobo and singer Wanda Sá. Despite his luxurious affiliation, Bernardo Lobo forged his own path and established great musical partnerships with Milton Nascimento, Ivan Lins, Marcos Valle, Abel Silva, Susana Travassos, and Carminho, among others.
