Maria Martins becomes European champion under 23 in omnium
Maria Martins is European omnium champion in U-23, winning today in the European Championships in track cycling U-23 and juniors, taking place in Apeldoorn, Netherlands.
In the previous days, Portugal had already celebrated Rodrigo Caixas’ gold, in scrath, and three silver medals, being two by Maria Martins, in scrath and in the elimination competition, and one by Diogo Narciso, in the points race.
Maria Martins, who was seventh in the omnium at the Tokyo Olympics, just failed to reach the podium in the points race, in which she was fourth.
