Born in Portugal and residing in the Netherlands for the last decade and a half, singer-songwriter Maria Mendes, nominated for the Grammy and Latin Grammy Awards, easily coexists with these two different worlds.

With her critically acclaimed album ‘Close To Me’ in 2019, Maria Mendes, whose praise has been sung by such legendary composers as Quincy Jones and Hermeto Pascoal, highlighted her ability to bring together diverse influences in an amazing way with her vibrant fusion of symphonic jazz and fado, the music of his homeland.

Far from having exhausted the possibilities of this project, Maria Mendes now edits ‘Saudade Color of Love’, the new live album in collaboration with master keyboardist/arranger John Beasley and Metropole Orkest. This work further expands the emotional intensity of its predecessor’s magical sound, backed by a full orchestra. The lush and velvety symphonic sound sparks when it meets the stimulating interplay of Maria Mendes’ brilliant quartet and the singer’s fervent vocals, resulting in a night of unforgettable music.
