Maria Quê Releases “Mária Altatója,” the First Single from ACALANTO

Maria Quê begins a new era with the release of “Mária Altatója,” the first single from the upcoming album ACALANTO, which is set to be released in full in 2025.

With a work that reinterprets traditional songs through modern influences, Maria Quê builds her own sound where the memory of ancient songs meets new soundscapes, in a dialogue between past and present.

ACALANTO delves into the world of children’s songs from diverse cultures, reviving traditions from around the globe and bringing them into a contemporary space for sharing. The result is a musical journey that intersects knowledge and sensibilities, promoting encounters and coexistence between cultures.

The single “Mária Altatója” paves the way: a traditional Hungarian lullaby, reimagined by Maria Quê with an arrangement that blends the delicacy of folklore with modern textures, revealing the intimate and exploratory tone that will characterise the album.

Alongside the music, ACALANTO features the collaboration of visual artist Catarina Collage, who created a set of five illustrations—one for each track on the album. These illustrations will be available for purchase. Those who pre-order will also have early access to the project’s tracks and exclusive content. More information will be shared through the band’s social media.

The live performance of this new cycle takes place on September 27th at the Lousada Municipal Auditorium, as part of the Foliazinho festival.

“Mária Altatója” is now available on all digital platforms.
