Maria Siderot wins silver in Oceania

The judoka won second place at the Oceania Open at -48 kg in Perth, Australia.

The Portuguese only lost in the final, which defeated Russian Irina Dolgova, in the gold point, and by ‘ippon’, but in their walk to the final won, Priscilla Morand of Mauritius, the Spanish Julia Figueroa and the German Katharina Menz.

The judoka Telma Monteiro was eliminated in the first fight of -57 kg by the German Ines Beischmidt. Also, Rodrigo Lopes at -60 kg, was eliminated by Czech David Pulkrabek.

Judoka Joao Crisóstomo managed to win a round at -66 kg against New Zealander Lorcan Fivet but then lost to German Sebastian Seidl.
