Mário Lúcio honored at the 13th edition of FESTLIP

Cape Verdean musician, Mário Lúcio will be honored at the 13th edition of the International Festival of Portuguese Language Arts (Brazil), which takes place from the 26th to the 30th of this month in Rio de Janeiro.

This 2nd online edition of the festival brings together artists from nine Portuguese-speaking countries and features musical attractions, theater, debates and gourmet shows, as well as children’s shows and film exhibitions in unprecedented partnerships with FIL and Cabíria Festival.

According to the event’s website, Mário Lúcio will open the festival directly from Cape Verde, with a live show, with a repertoire that brings together songs written by him. The musician was at the first edition of FESTLIP, in 2008.

In addition to the music, the author’s text, “Os Dias de Birgitt”, staged by Sikinada Cia de Teatro will participate in the festival in a live conversation, directly from the theater, after its performance.

This festival will also include the participation of artists from other Portuguese-speaking countries such as Portugal, Angola, Mozambique, Equatorial Guinea, Guinea Bissau, São Tomé and Príncipe, and East Timor.

FESTLIP_On will offer five free grants to foreign Portuguese-speaking actors for the workshop “The invention of art and theater”, by director Moacyr Góes, with ten classes starting on March 30th.

Artists from Angola, Portugal, Mozambique, Cape Verde, São Tomé and Príncipe, and Guinea Bissau are eligible until March 28, with registration through the festival’s social networks.
