Mariza celebrated her birthday with a wonderful concert at Campo Pequeno

Santa Casa Portugal ao Vivo, presents “20 20 Culture for all”, an initiative that aims to take over and encourage culture in Portugal

Mariza filled Campo Pequeno for an incredible concert on December 16th, the day she also celebrated her 47th birthday.

Wednesday night at Campo Pequeno started with Buba Espinho, who was in charge of the first part. Buba Espinho is a young Alentejo singer who debuts his first studio album this year, and the difficult harmony between youth and tradition, between the countryside and the coast, the legacy of generations of Portuguese music with the courage and determination to take a chance and innovate.

Shortly after, the artist of the night entered. Mariza took the stage with Estranha Forma de Vida”, followed by Sem ti”, “Lágrima” and Semente Viva”. This was a special concert where the birthday of this great artist was celebrated and we heard timeless themes from her 2001 album “Fado Em Mim”, to her most recent album “Mariza Canta Amália“, this album that she launched this year in honor of Amália Rodrigues.

Good evening Campo Pequeno. How I missed singing, and how I missed you! Thank you for coming tonight, it’s great to have the privilege of being able to sing for you in these difficult times“, said Mariza. It was at that moment that the audience got together and sang “Happy Birthday” to one of the most prestigious and recognized Portuguese artists.

On stage were also João Frade on the accordion, Filipe Ferreira on the acoustic guitar, Luís Guerreiro on the Portuguese guitar, Adriano Alves on the bass and João Freitas on the percussions, and we heard themes like Quem me dera”, “Beijo de Saudade”, “Gaivota”, “Já Me Deixou”, “Oração”, “Chuva”, “Barco Negro”, “Cravos de Papel”, “Amor Perfeito” e “Primavera”.

It was a beautiful concert where the public could not let Mariza go without first hearing “Melhor de Mim” and the emblematic song “Ó Gente da Minha Terra”, which is part of their 2001 album.

Santa Casa Portugal ao Vivo, presents “20 20 Culture for all”, an initiative that aims to take over and encourage culture in Portugal. Everything is New and PEV ENTERTAINMENT are simultaneously producing 20 shows in Lisbon, in Campo Pequeno, and 20 shows in Porto, at the Super Bock Arena Pavilhão Rosa Mota. A total of 40 shows, starting on October 31 and ending on December 19.

In order to guarantee the safety of everyone, each show is designed based on strict compliance with the rules imposed by the General Health Directorate (DGS). The use of masks is mandatory, in a space defined for this purpose, where all seats will be identified, fulfilling the mandatory distance between spectators who are not part of the same group. Finally, in order to avoid any kind of congestion between people, all entrances and exits will have their own circuits with the appropriate signs.

You can also see in this festival Fernando Rocha, Mariza, Anjos, Fernando Daniel, Rui Veloso, Tiago Nacarato e Bárbara Tinoco, among others. Tickets on sale now.
