GRAMMY®-nominated producer and artist Marshmello has just released his latest single, “Holy Water,” in collaboration with acclaimed GRAMMY®-nominated singer Jelly Roll. The song is available on all digital platforms.
On “Holy Water,” Marshmello explored a classic country sound, challenging himself to create an authentic sound with 12-string guitars, baritone guitar, and mandolin—instruments he played himself in the studio. These elements blend seamlessly with energetic beats and dynamic synthesisers. Jelly Roll delivers an emotionally intense performance, particularly with the chorus: “One tear for the brokenhearted, pour out a little holy water.”
The song is one of the most emotional Marshmello has ever released, saying: “This is one of the most personal songs I’ve ever released. It’s about losing someone you love—something so many of us can relate to. When I showed Jelly Roll the initial idea and explained the meaning, he loved it. The way he related to the song inspired me to delve even deeper into the production, exploring elements of country music. He took it to another level.”
“Holy Water” is Marshmello’s second foray into the country music universe, following the historic hit “Miles On It,” a collaboration with Kane Brown—the first song to simultaneously debut at No. 1 on the Top Dance/Electronic Songs Chart and the Top Country Songs Chart. This new single reinforces the producer’s versatility, as he continues to transition between genres with ease.
The release follows other 2025 hits such as “Worlds Apart” (with AR/CO), “Save My Love” (with Ellie Goulding and AVAION), and “Slow Motion” (with the Jonas Brothers).
