The Portuguese singer presented her latest album “Coração na Boca” at the CCB released in 2019 but unfortunately, due to the pandemic we are struggling with, his presentation was postponed.
A album recorded in Portuguese with words from José Eduardo Agualusa, Afonso Cabral or Nádia Schilling with production and arrangements by Luís Figueiredo and with the collaboration of composers such as Mário Laginha, Sara Tavares, Joana Espadinha, Maria Villanueva, André Fernandes and Francisca Cortesão.
Marta Hugon was a teacher at the Hot Clube de Portugal, she was also a soloist for the respective Big Band, she went through the classical repertoire and made inroads into funk and electronic music. She released her first album in 2005 “Tender Trap“, a sincere tribute to some of the classics of the North American songbook.
This was followed by “Story Teller” in 2008, with which it won over the public and the critic “who emphasized the maturity of voice and interpretation and originality in the choice of repertoire”. “A Different Time” in 2011, “Bittersweet” 2016 and in 2019 “Coração na Boca”.
In this concert, Marta Hugon invited Afonso Cabral, also one of the new names of Portuguese music and who also presented his new themes in the summer of 2020 at Teatro Maria Matos.
After being on the Teatro Maria Matos Stage with Elas e o Jazz, in the company of Joana Machado and Mariana Norton, for a superb jazz night, she again shows her full vocal capacity to interpret now in Portuguese compositions and lyrics that reveal the best that is done in Portugal.
Another excellent production of CCB.
