Matuê’s time in Portugal got off to a brilliant start last Thursday at the traditional Crato Festival 2025. In a conversation with Ineews, the singer shared details of his artistic journey.
The show began with a performance of “Conexões de Máfia,” with the Brazilian artist receiving a warm welcome from festival-goers.
This year alone, this is his third time in Portugal. The singer’s presence on European soil has been increasingly sought after, as Matuê states: “Portugal is our biggest concert venue here in Europe.” His international success and significant Portuguese audience is a source of pride for him. During the show, Matuê comments, “I feel at home, away from home.” In an interview, the singer reveals that an international career has always been a constant desire and promises new things. “They’ll come, who knows, so we can reach other places too,” he states.
The setlist is a journey that mixes heaviness and melody, passing through anthems like “Quer Voar” and “Anos Luz”, dark moments like “Castlevania” and introspective phases in “Máquina do Tempo”.
The singer’s growth didn’t happen alone. Matuê demonstrates the unity and close relationship he has with his band: what began as a desire since his adolescence became a distinctive achievement in the musical genre, adding musicality and ambiance, as he explains – “Slowly, Scooby arrived, then Samuel, we started introducing the instruments. I wanted each one to be their own artist, you know, to shine on stage, so that’s why I chose these guys, because really, I think you can tell, each one has their own moment and truly dominates the stage […] I always warm up before the show and then we gather the team and push.” The energy on stage between the members and the connection with the audience is penetrating, resulting in the distinctive character of their sound and an innovative style. “And today, that’s what you see, a hybrid of rock, trap, reggae—it’s exactly what I grew up listening to,” he comments.

Still in Portugal, the singer performed a show dedicated to his latest album, 333, at the Super Bock Arena in Porto on Saturday, August 30th. The album features a series of symbols and blends of rhythms that complement each other, transforming the songs into a synesthetic experience. After the huge success in Alentejo, Porto hosted another great show.
