MC Cabelinho confirmed for Sumol Summer Fest
4th and 5th of July, Inatel Camping Park, São João Beach - Costa da Caparica
On the 4th and 5th of July, the Inatel Campsite, next to São João Beach in Costa da Caparica, will once again host the Sumol Summer Fest, for its 15th edition.
After Morad’s confirmation for July 5th, it’s time to announce one of the main phenomena of Brazilian funk and rap. MC Cabelinho will perform on July 4th, on the Sumol Stage.

Owner of the catchphrase “Where is Cabelinho? Cabelinho is there!”, MC Cabelinho is a 29-year-old funk artist, who turned 29 on January 28th, who left Complexo do Pavão-Pavãozinho and Cantagalo to bring the reality of Rio’s favelas to the stages of Brazil. With a 10-year career, he released hits such as “Toda Hora”, “Era Hora”, “Era Uma Vez”, “Zona Sul”, “Vamos Fugir”, “Que Maravilha” and his most recent works, the albums “Little Hair ” (2021), “LITTLE LOVE” (2022) and “I’m Not a Saint But I’m Not a Bandit” (2024). His birth name is Victor Hugo Oliveira do Nascimento and since he was little he knew he wanted to be a singer.
He grew up listening to big names in funk, such as MC Orelha, MC Max, MC Tikão and MC Smith, who shaped his trajectory in the genre. Outside of funk, Cabelinho idolizes Amy Winehouse and, in 2018, he fulfilled his dream of travelling to London to see the singer’s statue and the places where she lived. With perseverance and dedication to his dreams, “MC Cabelinho” (name inspired by his spiky hair) became a reference in the Brazilian music scene. He has already released more than 100 songs, performs around 25 shows per month throughout Brazil, and has more than 8 million monthly listeners on Spotify and 13.4 million followers on Instagram. He is considered one of the greatest revelations of funk due to his ability to mix the traditional style with new trends, in addition to always maintaining his roots. His versatility led him to explore rap, initially through an invitation from rapper Brill, from Bloco 7.
The single “Meu Mundo” opened doors for new collaborations, such as “Aqui Comigo”, “Reunião de Negócios”, “Senta Vai” and Pineapple’s hit, “Poesia Acústica #6”, which begins with his famous catchphrase and has already been played more than 325 million times on Spotify and 850 million times on YouTube. The song “Favela”, released in partnership with Filipe Ret, reinforces his ability to move between funk and rap. For MC Cabelinho, these two genres have a lot in common, especially in the way they represent the experiences of communities and address social issues authentically and directly. MC Cabelinho continues to establish himself as one of the main voices of funk and rap in Brazil, taking his music and message to ever wider audiences. And one of these audiences will be the Portuguese, on July 4th at the Sumol Stage of the 15th Sumol Summer Fest.
