Gustavo Saldanha is a Beatles fan and is a musical prodigy, managing to play more than 6 instruments. The child is the latest member of Mensa, the international association of high IQ people.

At the age of 5, Gustavo discovered the Beatles and was learning the English band’s repertoire with great speed, in a list of child skills that continued to grow over the years. Currently, he is able to play guitar, bass, acoustic guitar, ukulele, drums, keyboards and other instruments.

In addition to his passion for music, Gustavo got involved with technology and, despite his young age, he is already able to install operating systems, turn Apple into Windows and use the complex system of professional musicians Logic Pro.

Since his birth, Gustavo Saldanha has always been different from other children. “He wasn’t easily distracted, he didn’t have the same interests as other babies”, recalls Luciane Saldanha, mother of Gustavo and doctor in Health Sciences. As soon as he learned to speak, the little one began to show great passion for the world of music.

With an IQ of 140, the young prodigy is currently the youngest Portuguese-Brazilian member of Mensa, the international association of high-IQ people. Gustavo has the support of the consultancy of neuroscientist Fabiano de Abreu, also a member of Mensa, who believes that this case proves his thesis on the importance of brain plasticity: “Intelligence has a genetic precursor and the phenotype results in a development that suggests clues that can be passed on to the next generation. Therefore, there is a great importance of educational level, reading, learning to develop a population. His parents were and are great scholars”, he details. The neuroscientist foresees great things for the future of the boy wonder and is already working to have his abilities recognized in different places.
