In 2024, with the participation of MEO Arena and the help of everyone who visited the Arena during the festive season, it was possible to collect 11 tons of food and deliver it to six associations in Greater Lisbon.
From today until the end of December, MEO Arena will build a Charity Christmas Tree on its premises, with the support of the public.
This initiative, which is taking place for the third consecutive year at MEO Arena, invites the public attending events to bring non-perishable food items, preferably canned goods, thus contributing to the growth of this tree and helping those most in need.
All donated food will be delivered to six associations directly supported by the initiative: Associação Ajuda de Mãe, Casa da Encosta da Associação Crescer Ser, Família Solidária de Oeiras – AFSO, Gira no Bairro – Mundos de Papel, Grupo de Milharado de Apoio aos Sem Abrigo (GMASA) and Sol Fraterno.
Outside, before entering the venue, collection points for donations will be available. This is another year of growing the solidarity tree, which everyone can follow in real time on social media.
Year after year, MEO Arena has recorded an increase in tons donated by everyone, in a project that emerged in the midst of the pandemic, at Christmas 2020, through the efforts of “Have Nice Day” and the “Vizinhos à Janela” community.
The “Cantar Morangos” concert is the show that sets the tone for the start of this year’s food drive. Until the end of the year, it will still be possible to contribute to the following events:
Matias Damásio: 20 years of career – November 29th
Home Alone in Concert – November 30th
Veigh: I Conquered the World – December 8th
Silence 4: 30 years – December 12th and 13th
Il Volo – December 14th
Cirque du Soleil – Ovo – December 25th to 28th
