September is getting less and less distant and on the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd of that month MEO KALORAMA settles in Parque da Bela Vista, in Lisbon, to receive some of the biggest names in current music – but not only. A little over three months away, the time has come for the festival to reveal more news, including its Main Sponsor. MEO, one of the brands with the greatest presence in the music and culture sector, joins the festival as a naming sponsor.
“MEO KALORAMA brings together three concepts inseparable from MEO’s activities since its inception: music, art, and sustainability. The support and contribution that MEO has been making in these territories in recent years, materializes the brand’s way of being, as the preferred brand of the Portuguese. Like technology, music unites people, creates and strengthens bonds, establishes connections, and transmits emotions”, SAYS João Epifânio, CSO B2C at Altice Portugal.
But there’s more: the festival also announces 11 new artists on its lineup, making known the much-desired lineup, in addition to starting with the sale of daily tickets. ready?
One of the most desired names will finally set foot on Portuguese soil again. Howard and Guy Lawrence, also known as Disclosure, will take the stage at MEO KALORAMA on the last day (3 September) to close with a diamond key the first edition of the music, art, and sustainability festival. The day before, on September 2, it’s Jessie Ware’s turn to toast the audience with her electrifying dancehall. On the same day as Ware, the Crawlers also take the stage, directly from Liverpool, a quartet that draws influence from the likes of Queens of the Stone Age, Muse, and Nirvana and that is already being talked about. On the first day of the festival, the wing is opened for American Jake Shears, frontman of the Scissor Sisters who, in September, on stage at MEO Kalorama, performs solo. Still, on that day, it’s the turn of what is already considered the biggest revelation of Brazilian pop music Marina Sena, whose fan club has not stopped growing since the release of her debut album.
But MEO KALORAMA is not just made up of names from other continents, whose lineup already includes renowned Portuguese artists such as Rodrigo Leão, Ornatos Violeta, or The Legendary Tigerman. Now, they are joined by the iconic Tó Trips and João Doce, with the project Club Makumba (3 September); acclaimed composer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Bruno Pernadas (2 September); D’Alva, the trio that brings Africa and Brazil into the DNA (September 1); Fred Ferreira, already considered one of the greatest talents of his generation; the Golden Slumbers sisters, Catarina and Margarida Falcão, who take their folk on stage on September 2nd; and the name that cannot be missing from any self-respecting lineup, where electronic music is present – Xinobi, who will perform Live at Parque da Bela Vista on the first day of the festival.
The new artists thus join the previously announced names – among which are Arctic Monkeys, The Chemical Brothers, Kraftwerk, Chet Faker, Bonobo, James Blake, and Róisín Murphy.
Another great news is that from the 26th of May, daily tickets for MEO KALORAMA will be available, for €61 (plus taxes), at seetickets.pt, meokalorama.pt, and at the usual places. But for those who want to guarantee their place now, the pre-sale starts the day after tomorrow (May 19), exclusively at MEO stores across the country, and in addition to the ticket includes an official MEO KALORAMA t-shirt to be raised at the festival.
In addition to daily tickets, festival-goers can also purchase packs for the three days of the festival, at seetickets.pt, meokalorama.pt, and at the usual places.
The festival also established a partnership with Lisboa Camping & Bungalows. Lisboa Camping & Bungalows has 38ha. prepared to receive festival-goers in bungalows, spacious alveoli for caravans or motorhomes, and a large area for tents. Located in the “green lung of Lisbon“, this tourist accommodation unit provides all the tranquility and comfort within 20 minutes from the city center, with direct access via public transport.
