Mexico and Cuba, reference locations for tourism in Latin America

  • It is expected that, by the end of 2023, tourism will represent 7.9% of the Latin American economy.
  • Due to the cultural richness and tourist attractions, Cuba and Mexico are two reference destinations in Latin America.

During the last few years, tourism in Latin America has seen exponential growth. This sector, which in 2022 had an increase of 34% compared to the previous year, will represent 7.9% of the regional economy by the end of the year, according to the World Travel and Tourism Council.

Among all Latin American countries, Mexico and Cuba stand out as tourist destinations for their cultural and historical richness.

Aware of the increased demand for this type of travel in agencies, Europamundo, a tour operator specializing in bus circuits and partner of Soltour Travel Partners, offers tourist distributors 17 circuits in Mexico and 11 in Cuba, giving the possibility of combining both countries in seven of its routes. All circuits have two departures per month, with a minimum of two passengers, and are available throughout the year.

Mexico, intense and colorful

The circuits offered by Europamundo in Mexico allow an in-depth knowledge of the Mayan culture through unique experiences, such as visiting the beautiful villages inhabited by the Tzotzil Indians or admiring the dresses of the women of Zinacantan. From the most economical plans, such as the Paseo Mexicano circuit (7 days, 955 euros) and Colonial Mexico (8 days, 806 euros), to the most extensive ones, such as the Unforgettable Mexico circuit (15 days, 1,781 euros) and Mariachi Route ( 17 days, 1,915 euros); All the options offered by Europamundo take visitors on a journey through the colorful and intense Mexican culture in the safest and most authentic way.

Tours through the country of mariachis include panoramic visits to the main points of tourist interest, such as the city of Oxaca – World Heritage – where you can visit the Monte Alban enclosure, located on a 400-meter-high mountain, or a visit to Guanajuato, with its steep slopes, narrow streets, and temples, among other sites. The circuits include entrance to the main attractions of the country, such as the Sumidero gorge, where you can take a boat trip, the archaeological site of Chicen Itza, a historical reference of the Mayan culture, or a boat trip on the Lagartos river, with its hot springs, where visitors can have the experience of covering their skin with mud.

Cuba, the capital of rhythm and revolution

The tours proposed by Europamundo in Cuba take travelers to the most authentic corners of the capital of rhythm and revolution. The tour operator has eleven circuits, including the Essential Cuba trip (8 days, 886 euros), which covers the most mythical places in the country, and the Toda Cuba circuit (11 days, 1,329 euros), which allows you to immerse yourself in the culture and Cuban energy in great detail. Europamundo’s circuits in the Caribbean country include panoramic visits to the most interesting tourist spots, such as Santiago de Cuba, the nerve center of rhythm and cultural contrasts, Camaguey, considered the metropolis of Cuban art, and Havana, the colonial city declared World Heritage by UNESCO. In Havana, it is possible to visit such special places as the Plaza de la Revolución and the Virgen de Regla church, a place of worship accessible by boat, where there is a strong syncretism between the Catholic religion and the Afro-Cuban religions.

Trips to Cuba include visits with admission to the country’s main landmarks, such as the Bacardi Rum factory or Hacienda Manaca Iznaga, in the heart of the sugar zone that gave rise to Trinidad’s prosperity. In addition, those who book a Europamundo tour in Cuba can enjoy an authentic and special overnight transfer in an old classic car to the fortress of San Carlos, located on the outskirts of the city of Havana, to watch a cannon firing ceremony.

According to Alejandro de la Osa, CEO of Europamundo, “All transfers on the Europamundo circuits are carried out in top quality buses, and the professionalism of the Mexican and Cuban guides, trained directly by Europamundo, allow you to enjoy the trip to the fullest and get to know, in-depth, the rich and diverse culture of both countries in the safest and closest way”. The tour operator, the leader in bus tours, also offers 250 private tours in Mini Van, which can be done in groups of 2 to 7 people, allowing for a more exclusive experience.
