Many friends were with Miguel Araújo at the Super Bock Arena, friends on stage and friends in the audience. Miguel’s music is like family; it comforts us in sad moments, makes us laugh in the happiest moments, and is part of our lives.

Miguel Araújo celebrated 20 years of his career, selling out the Super Bock Arena in Porto for three days on the 28th. Tomorrow, November 1st, he will be at the MEO Arena.

Few singers can speak to such a vast audience. It’s common to see several generations in Miguel’s audiences, from the youngest to the very young, but they all have something in common: they sing, they dance, and they leave with full hearts.

Always warmly received by the audience, this time was no different. During the nearly two-and-a-half-hour show, Miguel Araújo filled the venue with energy, and the connection between him and the fans was contagious. The audience sometimes clapped along, used their cell phone flashlights, or raised their arms, on what was an epic night.

He opened the show with “Cartório,” “Sagitário,” and “Gabriela,” with lights designed to complement each song, while live videos and images played on the stage, captivating the audience at every moment.

João Só was the first guest to take the stage, to sing “Hoje eu vi o mundo” and “While my guitar gently weeps,” followed by “Recantiga,” with flashlights illuminating the Arena. António Zambujo was the next guest to sing “Quem?” and “Rancho Fundo” with Miguel, in a night full of emotions. Following the “Serenata do Norte,” the legendary Rui Veloso joined Miguel Araújo on stage to sing “Fazer canções” and “Má Fortuna.”

An evening where the guests were friends and family couldn’t be complete without Os Quatro e Meia, performing “Tiques de Rico” and “Saudade.” Surprising the audience, his son joined him on stage with his guitar to sing “Dona Laura,” one of the most cherished moments of the night. Nena and Salsa took to the stage to recreate one of the composer’s earliest songs, “Desenhos Animados.”

The show continued with “Ainda estamos aqui,” “Talvez se eu dançasse,” and “Venha comigo ver os aviões,” songs that the fans sang at the top of their lungs with great emotion. Finally, “Pica do Sete” brought Marlon dos Azeitonas to a close, joining all the guests to sing “Quem és tu miúda,” ending an incredible night of memories and joy in apotheosis.

Tomorrow at the MEO Arena in Lisbon, the party continues with Miguel Araújo.
