Austrian brand has triggered the clause for the extension of the bond with the Portuguese driver for next season.
Miguel Oliveira has one more reason to smile. KTM, the Austrian brand with which the Portuguese driver Tech3 KTM has a contract, triggered the clause for the extension of the tie for the next season, that is, until 2020.
“The option over Michael expires in the summer, but we’ve already pushed it,” Pit Beirer, the sports director of KTM, told Speedweek.
The Portuguese rider who made his debut on the main circuit of motorcycles entered the World Championship with a 17th place in Qatar, followed by an 11th in Argentina and, more recently, a 14th place in the United States, in the GP Americas.
Miguel Oliveira is in 16th place in the MotoGP World Championship, having won seven points in two of three races. The fourth race of the championship is the Spanish GP in Jerez, next weekend.
