Miguel Oliveira (KTM) departs for next weekend’s MotoGP Americas Grand Prix with the purpose of “consolidating” his position among the points of the championship.
Miguel Oliveira explains that the Austin circuit in Texas (USA), where the third round of the MotoGP World Championship takes place on Sunday, “is quite peculiar because it has many curves . ”
“It’s a very long track with lots of ups and downs, so it’s fun. I’m sure that riding there with a MotoGP bike will be incredible,” said the Almada rider.
Miguel Oliveira emphasizes that he will “try to maintain the result of Argentina”, the previous race, in which he finished in 11th place, marking the first points of a Portuguese in the premier class of the world speed championship.
“I feel we need to consolidate our position within the top 15 spots, so that’s the goal for Austin,” said the Portuguese KTM rider.
Also, the boss of the team, the Frenchman Hervé Poncharal, part “confident” in a good result, excited by the performance of the Portuguese driver in Argentina.
“It was exciting to see Pol Espargaró [the official team] and Miguel challenging each other, which is the key to achieving good results. That’s what we need to develop the bike,” he said.
The first free practice for the Grand Prix of the Americas is scheduled for Friday.
