After having released the theme “Madruga” at the end of last year, his first single released by Virgin Music Portugal, now Mike11 is back with a new song, “Everyday”.
With a characteristically urban sound, closely linked to R&B, but full of sensuality, “Everyday” maintains the indelible mark of Mike11, who combines his Portuguese guitar with new genres, challenging all conventions.
“Everyday” is also the first single taken from Mike11’s next album, entitled “Elevem”, and which follows the project “19.2K”.
Mike11 grew up listening to Hip-Hop and R&B, but he began his career playing fado very early on, and it was on the Portuguese guitar that he found himself, under the tutelage of Arménio de Melo. He started to live at night in fado houses: in 2012, he was awarded as revelation in the Portuguese guitar and, at the age of 14, he was already a name to be reckoned with, shining alongside some of the best fado singers in our country.
He took everything he knew to a US stint, where he learned, grew and produced several tracks, but delayed releasing the first album until the identity was solid. He likes to live in the studio, seek out and experiment, and he infuses his indelible style into collaborations with various musicians. Thus, he becomes an artist who fuses Portuguese tradition — through the Portuguese guitar and classical guitar — with R&B melodies, singing to give voice to his instrumentals.
Now with the release of “Everyday”, Mike11 is once again showing why he is one of the most inimitable artists of the moment.
