The theme “Mais que ao Sol” by Milhanas is nominated for the Golden Globe for Best Song of the Year.
Released in January of this year, the single song is part of the artist’s debut album, “Sombra a Sombra”, released last May.
“Mais que ao Sol” talks about someone who existed more in the singer’s life than her own.
It is «a love of submission, a love without freedom» and above all it is a poem that, «tells the imbalance between vassalage and revolt, silence and screaming», she adds.
Produced by Agir and Jon with Luís Guerreiro on Portuguese guitar, the song has so far had more than 100,000 views on Youtube and 80,000 streams on Spotify.
Milhanas was nominated last year in the Breakthrough Artist category. It is nominated again this year, this time as Best Song of the Year, alongside songs by Bárbara Tinoco, Marisa Liz, Quatro e Meia and Salvador Sobral.
The gala where the winning song will be known will take place on the 1st of October at the Coliseu dos Recreios, in Lisbon.
