Singer and songwriter Mimi Froes took the stage at Teatro Tivoli BBVA, yesterday, October 14, to present her new EP to a room full of fans and friends and was dazzled.
After the 2020 EP “Vamos Conversar”, Mimi Froes edited a new work “E a cantar” by the publisher Arraial, and goes back to working voice, poems and music, being a pleasant confirmation of the new national voices and composers.
The themes of the first EP were passed through Tivoli, but also the new themes, Mimi Froes was accompanied on stage by Guilherme Melo on the Drums, Ricardo Marques on the Bass and Hugo Lobo on the Piano, young great talents.
Mimi Froes, who recently attended the ZZ – Jazz no Eixo event at Theatro Circo in Braga and at the Música no Parque Festival in Cascais, where she performed with Os Quatro e Meia on the theme “Sabes Bem”, stood out for millions of people on Factor X de Portugal, only 16 years old, performed high-level performances and now continues to follow his musical path between jazz and pop.
“No Faz Mal Não Estar Bem”, can now be heard in the soap opera “A Serra”, by SIC, where it is part of the soundtrack.
The concert began with “E a Cantar” which she sang alone, followed by “Sonhar“, “Vou“, “Outono“, “Mão agreste“, “Conversas endiabradas“, “Declarações de meia noite” and “Não faz mal não estar bem” in which she played guitar.
“Entre namorados“, which talks about her insecurities, something that, according to the singer, affects almost all young women, either because they don’t feel beautiful enough or sing well, in her case, it was her boyfriend who supported her and boosted her morale.
“100 viagens“, “E a cantar” accompanied on the piano by Hugo Lobo, “Multidão” and it was with “Petiza“, music that has a video with the signature of Brazilian photographer Daryan Dornelles, recognized for works with artists such as Chico Buarque, Milton Nascimento, Ney Matogrosso, Caetano Veloso and Mallu Magalhães, that Mimi finished the concert, singing with the audience and over a rain of applause.
But the room wanted more, Mimi Froes then sang “O Navio dela” an iconic song by Manel Cruz, but which in her sweet voice took on a life of its own, then ended her concert with “Aqui“, with a standing ovation of all the fans who were at this concert.
