Mimicat reinterprets “E Depois do Adeus” and “A Portuguesa”

with Maestro José Calvário Orchestra

The reinterpretations of “E Depois do Adeus”, by Paulo de Carvalho, and the national anthem, “A Portuguesa”, which bring together Mimicat with the Maestro José Calvário Orchestra, are now available on digital platforms.

In addition to the commemorative spirit of the 25th of April, the main objective of the version of “E Depois do Adeus” is to associate the extraordinary orchestration performed in 1994 by the Maestro José Calvário Orchestra with the modernity of Mimicat’s pop interpretation.

Celebrating 50 years, “E Depois do Adeus” is thus revisited in an elegant way that demonstrates the artist’s differentiated capacity for interpretation. This same characteristic is evident in the version of “A Portuguesa”, without distorting the national anthem.

After representing Portugal at Eurovision last year, Mimicat is preparing its third album of originals. Scheduled for release in autumn, it will feature the singles “Peito”, “Vais Ter Saudades” and also “Ai Coração”.
