MNE of Russia in Lisbon to discuss bilateral relations

Sergey Lavrov meets with Augusto Santos Silva, in the Palace of Necessidades, at the beginning of the morning.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will be in Lisbon on Saturday, with a meeting with the Portuguese counterpart Augusto Santos Silva and an audience with the President of the Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, on the agenda.

According to a note from the Portuguese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, “the meeting will analyze bilateral relations, relations between the EU and Russia and issues on the international agenda, namely the Middle East, Africa and Latin America.”

During the visit, a memorandum of understanding on political consultations will be signed between the two foreign ministries, followed by a joint press conference of ministers.

At the end of the morning, Sergey Lavrov will be received in audience at the Palace of Belém by the President of the Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa.

The Russian minister visits Portugal after his official visit to Italy, where he has scheduled meetings with his counterpart, Enzo Moavero Milanesi, and with Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte, in addition to participating in the conference “Dialogues of the Mediterranean”.
