In May, Moinho do Bengado, recovered in 2005 by the municipality of São Brás de Alportel, reinforces its dynamics with a program of interpreted visits and volunteer projects.
This relevant historical-cultural legacy can now be visited on Wednesday mornings and Thursday afternoons, by prior appointment with the Municipal Tourism Office, as well as on other dates and times by prior arrangement, and through agreements to be made. establish with tour agents and entities. Moinho is also part of the Environmental Education strategy, coordinated by the Environmental Education Service, based at Quinta do Peral.
Also this month, Moinho do Bengado has its doors open on Sunday afternoons, to welcome visitors, between 3 pm and 6 pm, without the need for prior reservation.
This new program has a volunteer project, developed by a couple of Dutch millers, living in the region, who will share with visitors knowledge, secrets and their immense passion for the mills.
