Every year, Amoreiras Shopping Center strives to present a Christmas program full of events and activities that celebrate the magic of the festive season. In this sense, on December 19th, Tuesday, at 7:15 pm, all visitors to Shopping dos Lisboetas will be able to attend an unmissable Christmas musical moment with the Regina Coeli Choir from Lisbon. With free entry, on the 1st floor, in the Central Square next to the nativity scene.
Under the direction of conductor Maria de Fátima Nunes, the choir, made up of 30 members, will bring a diverse repertoire, with composers and timeless works of classical music, typical of the Christmas season. This performance will be accompanied on the piano by Bernardo Marques, who regularly collaborates with the São Carlos National Theater and the Gulbenkian Foundation.
Created in 1966 by maestro António Joaquim Lourenço, the Regina Coeli Choir is a regular presence at various festivals, choir meetings and musical seasons across the country, having won several gold and silver medals at the Summer Choirs Festival. It is currently directed by the maestros Maria de Fátima Nunes and Paulo Lourenço.
Conductor Maria de Fátima Nunes, who has an admirable career in the field of music, was recently responsible for preparing the Choir for World Youth Day Lisbon 2023 and, since September this year, has been part of the artistic direction of the Regina Coeli Choir in Lisbon.
This is another one of the many reasons to visit Amoreiras Shopping Center at this time of year, and a full tour is essential to see the stunning Christmas decorations carefully installed throughout the space; and visit the iconic nativity scene, designed by designer Cláudia Perdigão, installed next to the staircase.
Families can also take their little ones for the long-awaited secret conversation with Santa Claus and go to “Santa Claus’s Atelier”, a children’s workshop where they can put together kits with figures alluding to Christmas and take them home as a souvenir of the Mall. Also in this location, there will be an impressive train that children can board and take photos to remember later.
