“RAIZ 1261 by Léticia Esteves” is inspired by Monção and designed to mark the identity of this charming corner of Minho with endless enchantments. The collection will be officially presented at an exclusive event on 14th September at the iconic Palácio da Brejoeira.

The collection’s name, RAIZ 1261, besides being an element of inspiration, represents the connection of the collection’s author, Léticia Esteves, to her homeland. RAIZ, because Monção is home, a reunion of values and growth. 1261, the date of the granting of the charter to the Municipality of Monção by King D. Afonso III, the affirmation of Monção’s identity and the ancestry of its history.

The artist, Léticia Esteves, describes this as a timeless, classic collection with a contemporary touch, consisting of 10 pieces that represent various symbols of Monção – its Brand, the Olho da Coca, the Vine of Alvarinho, and the Roscas. The delicacy and sophistication define the exclusive design of each piece by the author, a result of meticulous technical work.

Three bracelets, two necklaces, two rings, two cufflinks, and a choker. All pieces are handmade in 925 sterling silver, with 24K gold plating, natural stone (malachite), and cold enamel. Depending on the piece, the finish is shiny, polished, or brushed. The collection is authenticated and certified by the INCM Assay Office.

According to António Barbosa, Mayor of Monção, “the symbolism, beauty, and refinement evident in this collection not only provide Monção citizens with the perfect opportunity to express their unconditional love for the land but also, combined with authenticity and distinction, attract those seeking unique and elegant jewellery pieces.”

14th September is the chosen date, by the Municipality of Monção, for the official presentation of this unprecedented collection. The event will take place at an exclusive event, with limited capacity and mandatory registration, at the Palácio da Brejoeira, a grand historic building classified as a National Monument since 1910, and will treat guests to two distinct moments: Jewellery Fashion Show and Sunset.
