Mônica Salmaso and José Pedro Gil are returning to celebrate April

In a “meeting” between Zeca Afonso and Vinicius de Moraes

“Estrada Branca” passes through CCB and Casa da Música, as well as Évora and Amarante, for four concerts and four conversations with the public.

Mônica Salmaso and José Pedro Gil celebrate the work of José Afonso and Vinicius de Moraes – two unavoidable figures in Portuguese and Brazilian culture – in a meeting that rescues the vitality of the songs that emancipate themselves from the authors’ mortality. The project, with dramaturgy by Carlos Tê and scenic design by award-winning architect Manuel Aires Mateus, has the musical direction of Nelson Ayres, Teco Cardoso and Emanuel de Andrade.

After its debut in 2017 at the Teatro Nacional de São João, in Porto, and the live recording during that tour, the album was released in 2019 by the publisher Biscoito Fino on the occasion of a series of concerts that were highly applauded by the public and critics.

On the occasion of the year and month that marks 50 years of Democracy in Portugal, Mônica Salmaso and José Pedro Gil once again pay homage to the work of Vinicius de Moraes and José Afonso in four concerts and four conversations: 10, in Évora (Teatro Garcia de Resende ); 12, in Lisbon (CCB); 13, in Amarante (Cine-Teatro de Amarante); and, finally, on the 14th, in Porto (Casa da Música). Tickets are now available on Ticketline.
