The first festival of the year, Montepio Às Vezes o Amor, ends its seventh edition on the 31st of July with the sold-out concert ‘Salvador Sobral Canta Brel’ at Convento São Francisco in Coimbra – the only live date in 2021 of this unique project of Salvador Sobral.
Initially planned for the 12th, 13th and 14th of February, the Montepio À Vezes o Amor festival faced unprecedented challenges and constraints in this edition of 2021. Producers Associados and Locomotiva Azul agencies – creators of the concept and producers of the event – together with Associação Mutualista Montepio, naming sponsor of the festival, and all the theaters, with an enormous capacity for resilience and adaptation, kept their commitment and offered another edition of excellence, a luxury poster and 16 fully sold out shows in cities and halls in the North and South of the country, where more than 5,000 people visited, during the months of April and May, with a last concert now on the 31st of July in Coimbra.
In the most challenging year ever for the culture and events sectors in Portugal and in the world, Montepio Às Vezes o Amor was also recognized with the Marketeer 2021 Award, in the Events category (Music and Entertainment). The festival gathered the preference of the jury and voters in the 13th edition of the Marketeer Awards, which together distinguished the Valentine’s Day Music Festival as the event of the year in Portugal. An even more important recognition, as it is the first decentralized festival to achieve such distinction by the renowned Marketeer Awards.
The 2021 edition proved to be probably the most special ever, with the public showing strong support and the huge demand for tickets proved that this is a festival of emotions and that, more than ever, love is to be celebrated with song. Watching a big concert is always a moment of sharing that touches everyone’s heart.
