It was the year 2019, in the month of March, and the rapper, in his second single, “Un cuento”, intentionally released what turned out to be a self-fulfilling prophecy. Said and done: since then, unimaginable things have happened in Morad’s universe, a phenomenon that goes against all the unwritten rules about which path leads to success in today’s music industry.

In times of trained algorithms and invasive marketing campaigns, the triumph of this young talent from L’Hospitalet de Llobregat is the triumph of truth. The trick to the fluidity with which he jumps between drill and trap and classic rap to UK garage is that there is no trick. Without a label to support, without radio airplay, in a self-managed and organic way, Morad was able to infiltrate the charts and playlists as one of the most heard artists in Spain.

It is cases like this that show that, although it sometimes seems like a card game in which the winners are decided in advance, the public still has the power to dictate success: proof of this is the 100 million views accumulated in 2020 with hymns like “ Motorola”, “Normal” or “Yo no voy”.

In 2021 he continued his success with the gold records of “Cómo están?”, “Soñar” and “Cuando ella sale”, increasing his monthly listeners to 6.7M on Spotify, and together with his collaborations with the stars puerto rican Ozuna and Eladio Carrión, Italians Capo Plaza and Baby Gang or Frenchmen Lacrim, Rim’K, Naps, and Jul. This growing international projection also culminated in the MDLR Euro Tour, conquering 14 European cities in 8 different countries.

2022 began to make history with the impact of “Pelele” and the BZRPsession, the two viral hits that made him the first Spanish artist to occupy the top two positions on Spotify Spain for more than one day. An entire generation instantly connected with each of his releases, because Morad and his audience share the same codes and language, where they recognize themselves as equals. New times like the ones we live in demand a new type of star-like Morad.

A 21 de outubro, vivem-se estes novos tempos ao vivo, no Coliseu dos Recreios, com a estreia de Morad nesta que é uma das mais ilustres salas de Portugal.
