Moreno Veloso returns with “Mundo Paralelo”
Moreno Veloso returns to Portugal to present “Mundo Paralelo”, with shows in Lisbon, S. João da Madeira, Covilhã and Penafiel in May.
The concerts are scheduled for May 7th at the Maria Matos Theater, in Lisbon, the 9th at the Casa da Criatividade in S. João da Madeira, the 10th at the Teatro Municipal da Covilhã, closing at Ponto C, in Penafiel on May 11th. Tickets for the shows in Lisbon and S. João da Madeira are now on sale.
Ten years after the release of his last studio album – Coisa Boa (2014) – Moreno Veloso released Mundo Paralelo (2024), an album produced by him, which features 9 original songs including the title track, the Samba de Roda “A Donzela se Casou”, with the participation of the Veloso family (Caetano, Maria Bethânia, Zeca and Tom) and the re-recording of “Deixe Estar” by António Cícero and Marina Lima.
The album, recorded between Lisbon and Rio de Janeiro, was carefully constructed around another reality, with a transcendent look that goes beyond the norm, a more beautiful and joyful look, even in the most challenging moments of life, as was the case with covid-19 pandemic, when the album began to be conceived.
It is a projection of evidently positive images that point to a happier world even when the immediate is in total disagreement with happiness. It is a parallel world.
Mundo Paralelo is the show that Moreno Veloso, together with musicians and friends Domenico Lancellotti, Pedro Sá, Alberto Continentino and Leo Reis, brings to the stage of the four Portuguese theatres that are part of his next European tour.
