Movie ‘Park Mayer’ nominee for Mexican award Ariel
The film ‘Parque Mayer’, by the director António-Pedro Vasconcelos, will be Portugal’s nominee in the category of best Ibero-American film of the Mexican film awards, Ariel, revealed the Portuguese Cinema Academy.
The Ariel awards are awarded by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences of Mexico and were created in 1946. There is a category designed to distinguish, with Ariel de Plata, the best production of the Ibero-American space.
Premiered last December, ‘Mayer Park’ tells the story of a young woman who dreams of being a stage theatre artist at Parque Mayer in the 1930s, when the political regime of Oliveira Salazar began.
The film was produced by Tino Navarro, has an argument by Tiago Santos and interpretation, among others, by Francisco Froes, Daniela Melchior, Diogo Morgado and Miguel Guilherme.
In the Portuguese cinemas was seen by about 33 thousand spectators.
