As part of the celebrations of the month of Lusofonia, the Community of Portuguese-speaking Countries will present, at the Centro Cultural de Belém, on the 15th of May at 9 pm, the concert MULHERES DA LUSOPHONIA, which aims to pay homage to the Lusophone Woman, with particular highlighting the Black Woman, mother of an Identity that defines the construction of Lusophony Countries, in the voices of Anabela Aya (Angola), Anastácia Carvalho (São Tomé and Príncipe), Ana Laíns (Portugal), Karyna Gomes (Guiné-Bissau), Lura (Cape Verde), Piki Pereira (Timor), Selma Uamusse (Mozambique) and Fafá de Belém (Brazil), from whom the idea of bringing together this collective of Women of the Word in Portuguese, and strong representatives of the countries’ identity cultures, was born. that represent.
Accompanying these eight voices of Lusofonia will be an Ensemble composed of Paulo Loureiro (piano), Rolando Semedo (bass), Carlos Lopes (accordion), João Ferreira (percussion), Ana Filipa Serrão (violin), José Pereira (violin), Joana Cipriano (viola d’arco) and Catarina Gonçalves (cello).
The orchestrations are in charge of Paulo Loureiro, Nuno Tavares, Sérgio Charrinho and Telmo Lopes.
Supported and financed by the CPLP Special Fund, the MULHERES DA LUSOFONIA concert celebrates this Portuguese Language which, uniting Nations and Peoples, evokes cries of Freedom, as its history and that of Lusophone Countries is also the history of women who, although enslaved and Far from their origins, they remained strong, carrying the weight of the battles fought in the name of their people and their cultural and ethnic identity, leaving a legacy that, today, is sung by other women who continue to defend their cultural identity.
The MULHERES DA LUSOPHONIA concert, free entry, also has the support of the Guimarães Rosa Institute, the Brazilian Mission to the CPLP and the Belém Cultural Center.
