Mumford & Sons are back with new album Rushmere

in stores March 28

Mumford & Sons have announced details of their new album, Rushmere, their first since 2018’s Delta. It is scheduled for release on March 28, 2025.

To coincide, the band also shared their debut single, the title track from the album—a new video, portraying the palpable emotion of fans hearing the single for the first time.

Mumford & Sons released their debut album, “Sigh No More,” in 2009. It combined their unique take on classic folk with a rousing, euphoric sound more akin to a rock band, and simultaneously helped revive one of the earliest genres of rock. musicals in a new century. It’s a sound that took them on an incredible journey.

Throughout four albums, the British band has racked up numerous awards for their work, notably two BRIT Awards, two GRAMMY Awards (including the prestigious Album of the Year), several multi-platinum chart-topping album hits around the world, a string of headline performances at the biggest festivals (including Glastonbury) and selling out arenas tour after tour (including their biggest numbers to date in the US after the “Delta” tour in 2019). Mumford & Sons’ distinctive sound has influenced and inspired recent artists to achieve great success on their own. It’s hard to find many artists who have followed a similar career path.

Since the release of the band’s last album, they’ve explored solo passions and reconnected with past friends and collaborators. During a particularly prolific run of recent songwriting inspiration, it took them back to the magic of where it all began, in London.

Rushmere is where it all began for Mumford & Sons. The lake, located on Wimbledon Common in southwest London, is where Marcus Mumford, Ben Lovett and Ted Dwane first met and had the initial idea of forming a band. Rushmere was as familiar to them as the instruments they played and is at the heart of the group’s origins.

Rushmere is the beginning of the next phase of Mumford & Sons and follows an intense period of creativity for the current trio (following Winston Marshall’s departure from the band in 2021). It is an emphatic return. Since the release of Delta, Marcus Mumford released his self-titled debut solo album in the fall of 2022, and last year, Mumford & Sons released a collaboration with Pharrell, “Good People.”
